As I dash away in my little “Romper” and boyfriend shirt, I thought to share some travel tips with you today because I know a lot of you just like me will be travelling to one place or the other this Summer.
In my humble opinion, Summer time is that one season a lot of us in this part of the world look forward to because we get to enjoy the sun and we get a break from work to travel; well for people who love travelling.
My Outfit of the day
I love Rompers and I love it when people wear them. However for my height, I haven’t quiet found the one that is not ridiculously short on me. And because I like to feel comfortable and confident in what I wear, I decided to go for a longer version of the rompers.
For this look, I paired my romper with a boyfriend shirt and finished my look with a pair of “fancy sneakers“. Boyfriend shirt? Yes, because it fits loose like it is my boyfriend’s own.
This look is simple yet fun, stylish yet perfect for travel. If you like it is comfort travel in style.
TRAVEL TIPS
Whether travelling on a long or a short journey, this travel TIPS will come in handy to you. These are a few of the things that has helped me each time I travel.
Comfortable BUT Stylish
One of the most important things to consider when travelling is what to wear. When travelling, ensure to wear comfortable clothes; ones that will make you feel relaxed and easy. An example of what to wear when travelling is what I have on in this post. If I do say so myself, it is comfortable but stylish.
Travel time is not when to throw on those 6 inches stilettos except of course you are travelling on a private jet. A lot of people who travel on private jets bring their heels with them and throw them on on arrival at their destination.
PLAN TO KEEP WARM
For someone like me, I tend to feel really cold on flights even when it is very warm so I always have to wear a scarf and a pair of socks once I am settled in. So if you are like me, ensure to bring a pair of socks and blanket. If you feel extremely cold on flights, you can bring a hat. I do well with socks and a blanket (thick scarf). In the winter, you will obviously need all 3 of them. See me and my thick scarf on my recent travel………
PASSPORT
I was having a chat with my old manager one day when she told me her son forgot his passport at home while he was traveling only to discover when he got to the airport; so she had to hurriedly get on the green bus to quickly drop the passport for him. While this may sound so unbelievable, a lot of people actually forget their passport at home when they travel.
When you are about to set out for the airport, the last thing you should do before you lock the door to your home is to check if you have your passport on you. If you don’t have a mum who can jump on a green bus, you will miss your flight unfortunately.
LUGGAGE
One of the frustrating things to encounter at the Airport is delay. You can avoid being delayed by ensuring that your luggage size and weight is correct.
Ensure to measure your luggage when packing for your journey and make sure it conforms to your luggage allowance for your itinerary. This will prevent you from paying excess luggage fee or save your the stress of having to throw things away if you do not have excess luggage fee to pay.
Another thing is to TAG your bag(s) so when you arrive at your destination, you can easily spot your bag and head straight out the airport.
And still speaking of bags, ensure not to bring prohibited items in your luggage. You can read travel terms and conditions to avoid all of that. Simple things like your razor or nail trimmers may be seized if you bring them on your hand luggage. Other things like an oversized bottle of shampoo, conditioner, perfumes etc may also be seized if in your hand luggage. If you are bringing anything big, ensure to check them in.
All of the thing I mentioned above you can check in with your luggage. By the way, the maximum amount of liquid you can bring with you in your hand luggage is 100ml; anything other than that will be seized unfortunately.
How I Pack For My Last Get Away + Some Travel Hacks For You
Why wear boring when you can wear stylish?
Instead of a boring trainers or sneaker or flats, go for ones with details. Comfy can be stylish. Go on, make it the best of both worlds; comfy + stylish.

More Travel TIPS
When I was pregnant with my second son; Sammy, I decided I wanted to go to Italy. I booked flights prepared to go and off i went with my older son. Even though I was pregnant, the journey wasn’t as bad at all because I prepared like I was going to write an exam.
What To Do When Travelling With Children
You know your children, nobody knows them better than you. Travelling with younger children is different from travelling with older children. With younger children…..
1, Make them feel special by bringing their own hand luggage. Make it a small colourful hand luggage they can carry on their back or drag so movement is easy in case you are linking flights. It will also be handy to carry on the flight by themselves.
I have noticed that children like to carry their own bags. When packing their bags, be sure to pack the little things they like to play with and you think they would need; the thing that gives them a sense of their “me time”. If possible, call them when packing their hand luggage to let them pick what they like; it could be books, their favourite toy or game etc.
2, Ensure they are warm as well.
If travelling with babies, ensure you have their bottle prepared, water prepared, food prepared, bring nappies to change them if they are wet. All of these things, you have to have in the baby bag.
Be prepared because it is possible for babies to cry on the flight for landing and take off. The change from the environment they are used to could make them feel uncomfortable.
Going through the Checks / Immigration
I wrote earlier that NOT carrying prohibited items on your hand luggage is the best way to pass freely and easily at the airport. While that is possible, this days because of the different threats of terrorism and attacks going on in almost all parts of the world, be prepared to be delayed. This days, there is random stop and search so you could be pulled aside to be thoroughly screened.
Wearing belts, necklaces that are made out of metals also can make checking in a little slower. If you can, wear jewellery and belts you can easily take off. Also wear shoes you can easily take off if you have to. Don’t wear high heels. A slip on sneakers are the best for travel and you don’t have to take them off when you pass through immigration.
The Rompers are easy breezy one piece that is easy to pull down even if you have to go to the bathroom. I like them for travel with a boyfriend shirt or an oversized denim shirt. Have fun wearing yours whether for travel or for a casual day out at the park. The good news is you can also spot them with heels for a night out too.
