Purpose, the reason for which something is done or created or for which something exists. For us to be purposeful, we have to set out or embark on a journey. All of us!
Today’s blog is called, “this journey called purpose” and in this blog, I will be sharing five, well maybe six reasons with you on this journey called purpose. Let’s do this……………
Before I share the reasons with you, Why on Earth Am I Here is like the first series of my purpose blogs. On that blog, I shared the reason why God made us. If you haven’t read the blog, click on the highlighted text to read it. I know a lot of you viewed that blog because it was one of our most viewed blog for that week. Thanks to everyone for reading it.
On this journey called Purpose………….
1, You will lose friends. So, be ready to walk alone.
People who don’t understand your journey can’t befriend you. This is because you do not have or share the same vision, goal and aspiration with them. When you start working in the area of your purpose, they just won’t know WHY you do what you do. Sincerely, your vision will not just blend with theirs because they won’t get it.
So, be ready to walk alone. Although you may have to walk alone on this journey called purpose BUT I encourage you to walk with God. He will guide you and show you how to “walk the walk”. Also surround yourself with like-minded people who share the same goal and vision with you; people who will bring out the best in you and help you be the person you want to be.
2, You must understand your Purpose clearly. What is it? How do you want to Fulfill it?
A while back, I shared the true meaning of clear vision, see it HERE. When you know exactly where you are going, you won’t waste time, you focus, embark on the journey and although there may be some hi-cups, you will arrive there eventually. So, understand your purpose, get clarity.
3, You must be ready to work at it.
Nobody celebrates failure. We have seen instances when people do well in life and all of a sudden, everyone is related to them; these people who can’t support you when you are struggling, all of a sudden become Best friends, Cousins, Nephews, Aunties, Uncles and so on. You would have seen these before I believe. I like the way Oprah Winfrey puts it, she said, “You do not need people who will only ride with you in the Limo but ones who will ride with you when the Limo breaks down”. Amazing right? Remember, you are not working to impress anyone, you are working to fulfill your own purpose. So work hard, work smart, do all you can and your reward will come.
4, Many may not understand what you stand for.
This is okay because when God gave you a vision, purpose and destiny, He didn’t call them, He called you. And so they may not understand it. The most important thing is for your to understand your purpose like I mentioned above in number 2. Nobody has to understand WHY you work in the mornings and evenings. They do not have understand WHY your Sundays are for work too and they do not have to understand WHY you decided not to go to that party and so on. Remember, once you know the reason WHY you are doing those things, that is all that matters. Your reward will come. The more you work on your purpose, the more your good success will be. Remember, silent all the noise and FOCUS on your purpose!
5, Thanksgiving & Humility
Be thankful for where you are always. In thanksgiving, we receive more. Embrace your journey and own it as you continue to work on your growth. Be humble. God lifts us up in humility.
6, Lastly, bring as many people with you
This last point, I learnt from the 8 LESSONS I LEARNT FROM MARK ZUCKERBERG’S VISIT TO AFRICA. Bringing as many people with you when you become successful is true leadership. Bringing as many people as possible with you is also the definition of leadership by Myles Monreo. He said, “you are a true leader when you groom your followers for leadership”. He did groom many before he left this world. May God rest his soul, amen. Remember, leaders don’t succeed alone, they create or mould successors.
I want to thank you so much for stopping by today and for reading. I truly hope you are inspired by today’s post. Please remember that the journey to purpose may be rough BUT we can all arrive there. Thanks again for letting me be your Cheerleader. Do GREAT things, you can!
Much Love, Mojisola

Great motivation to start the week. So many great points, especially #3 and #4. As long as we know what our purpose is and that we are working hard to achieve it, then that’s all that matters. Great post. Hope you have a great start to the week.
