Nope, my style hasn’t changed!
I thought a little mix of the unusual with the usual will be ideal for today’s look. Why stick to the norm when you can do the unusual ?
No matter how rugged I try to style my look, I always end up gravitating towards clean lines, modern classics and minimal styling. Today, I decided to add some edge with my look of the day with the mix of print and colours.
Before I narrate the styling, I will like to remind you that there is no point trying to be or dress like some one else.
Be your own best you. Oops, your best you is the title of a book I read! Love it much.
The key to embracing your own style is to know your personal style. Do you know yours? Here’s the post on PERSONAL STYLE
For my look today, I paired denim on denim with a fuchsia blazer. To tie my look together, I wore a pair of burgundy pumps and a zebra print bag which I made into a clutch.
WHY MIX DENIM ON DENIM WITH BURGUNDY & PINK ?
Black and white mix well with many colours. Both colours are considered classic colours.
Black and white mix well with pink which is bright and bold and they also mix well with red which is classic and the popular pop of colour most people reach for.
Remember I always mention that your pop of colour doesn’t have to be red only. With this look, I did double the pop of colour showcasing pink and red on different shades of blue.
I mentioned that my purse is actually a handbag that I turned into a clutch !
What I did…..
1, I packed everything I needed in my bag (not so much to enable me achieve the clutch result).
2, I ensured everything sits in the middle of the bag to avoid things from moving all over the place.
3, I folded the bag into clutch and shaped it the way I want it to be.
4, Tried it out in front of a mirror and voila !
See the below picture for how the bag looks originally……….

Mixing print and colours is nothing new under the sun. For “colour novice”, pay attention to what you are doing, when you are done, ask yourself if you are happy with your creation, if you are, you are good to go. Always remember that fashion rule, feel free to take out something if you think you have done too much. Remember less is more.
To be on the safe side, start your pop of colour creation with one colour
I hope you like the styling. So tell me, how do you add some edge to your own look. Would love to read from you.

Thank you Stella. Do have a great weekend too.
Mojisola.
I agree. The best way to represent yourself is to be “yourself”. I really love the way you added the pop of colors, and the way you paired them with a black & white print. This is a fun way to start the weekend. I really love those shoes!! I’m trying my best not to cave. Hahaha. Have a great weekend my dear! Xx

Thank you for reading dear Linda.

I love the styling. I like the creative part of the bag into purse and the idea to go style the look with a print bag. The choice of blue on blue is perfect. Your color represents the additive color system. PERFECTO! As usual, you look stunning and pink is really your color.
Thank you for stopping by Sade. Glad you liked the styling.

Thank you Sunshine. Glad you liked the look.

I love this color combination. The fuschia/hot pink (not sure what it should be called these days) and the crimson suede heels is beautiful. The look is casual yet well styled and could be worn to an evening event easily. I don’t wear a lot of prints but I need to change that. Thanks for the inspiration.
