I SPENT A DAY WITH YOUTUBE AT GOOGLE HQ, DUBLIN

At every chance I get, I do my best to inspire everyone to be who they want to be. On today’s post, I have been given another opportunity to share and remind you that it is okay to be who you want to be irrespective of your age, sex, circumstance, background,economic situation or where you live. Your present situation or status doesn’t define you, what you do in that situation is all the matters.

Last Saturday, 17/09, I had the opportunity to go and spend the day with YouTube at the Google Headquarters in Dublin. I opened my email about 2 weeks ago and I saw this invitation. I was humbled, honoured and happy because I was preparing for such a time as this and that is why I do my best to give my YouTube Channel everything.

Since I started doing Youtube, I do my best to upload at least one video a week. A lot of times I make 2 videos doing what I love; beauty, fashion and motivation / inspiration.

At the event, I had the honour of accessing and criticising the channels of creators who could do better or improve their channel amongst other things. On the day, there was learning, networking, food, meeting different people and YouTube Ambassadors and many other fun things on the day. I would love to be a YouTube Ambassador someday, it will be a great honour. For now, I will be working and praying about it. The invitation and the opportunity I was given to critic, inspire and encourage was more than enough for me on this occasion.

Do You Want to Start YouTube? Here’s What to do…..

There is no day that passes by without me getting a question or two on starting YouTube. Creating content on YouTube is not rocket science. It is as easy as ABC. To get on YouTube, you should

1, Know your WHY

Know the reason why you want to do YouTube. Do you want to do YouTube for fun, for career, make money, reach out to clients or customers, encourage or inspire people etc. The first thing is to know your WHY. Your why must be have a purpose. Making money is great but having a Purpose makes you thrive and stand out.

2, You need a Gmail Account

To make YouTube, you need a gmail for you to be able to set up your YouTube account. For example, my gmail is mojintouch@gmail.com. So you need an account like that. When you make your gmail account, you will be prompted to create your YouTube and you can start creating videos immediately.

3, You need a Filming Device

A lot of people think to make YouTube videos they need a lot of fancy equipments. No, you don’t. You can make your videos on your smart phones (Android, iPhone etc). You can make your videos on your web cam, on your iPad or any other device you have access to. You can use Cameras, a point and shoot is perfect for filming and you can also use DSLR if you have one.

The first step to make YouTube videos is not buying fancy gadgets. The first step is starting. The catch is no matter what device you use, ensure that the audio is great and the video quality is great too. Those two tips I mentioned last are the most important in attracting audience to your videos. In case you were wondering, I use a DSLR(digital single lens recorder) for my YouTube videos. Like I said, start first, you can buy more gadgets as you grow on your journey.

4, Once You Start, Don’t Stop

When a lot of us see very successful people, we pray and hope to be like them. We forget the hard work they have put into getting where they are. A lot of successful people work hard. There is no short cut to success in my humble opinion. I shared that in the journey to success, one of my YouTube videos. Once you start making your videos, it is important not to stop, varnish into thin air and expect growth, it doesn’t work that way. You have to be consistent to be able to achieve anything out of what you are doing.

For some one like me, I do have a routine I follow. I film a couple of videos on my filming day and use those videos over a period of time. What this means is what works for me, may not work for you, there is no one size fit all on this YouTube journey. You have to find what works for you and stick with it. Do your research, read and learn as much and stick with YOUR plan.

5, Learn as Much as you Need

This is about the most important thing you can do for yourself when doing YouTube. You can learn most of the things you need to know by watching YouTube videos. There are a lot of creators who specialises in YouTube growth topics. They teach and share tech TIPS on everything YouTube. All you have to do is type in exactly what you are looking for on YouTube search engine and you would get results. By the way, YouTube is the second biggest search engine in the world.

In life, you have to believe in yourself and trust your own journey. A lot of people may not believe in you or what you do. They may not see your vision and they may not have any iota of believe in your dream, that does not mean you should not do what you have to do. You should and when you begin to share your results, they will have no choice than to believe in you. Be mindful that you are not doing what you are doing for people to believe in you. You are doing what you have to do to fulfil a specific purpose for your own life. If this is your goal, you will thrive, no matter what. It could take a while but you will eventually get there. Are you going to go after your dream or be bothered about what anyone thinks? This is a question to ask yourself. Answer genuinely and do your best to be who you want to be. I wish you the very best in going after your dream and as you go, may God help you find your way.
