Black is not a colour many wear during the warmer months or Summer. Let’s face it, after wearing so much black during the Winter to keep warm, many of us tend to gravitate towards colours – bright, bold and beautiful in the Summer. However, there are exceptions to wearing black in the Summer. With a very well detailed blouse like this, bring on black for Summer….
Outfit of the Day!
For my look today, I was wearing this black linen loose blouse with bubble sleeves paired with a pair of fitted jeggings and to finish my look, I wore a pair of black sling back and top handle bag completes the look. I complimented the button on my blouse with the bag actually, they are like match made in heaven…..
This blouse is the best of both worlds as far as I am concerned. The back is very well detailed and although the front is plain, I decided to share an option for styling the front up if you so desire with your own look…..

Fashion TIP Today ::: Wearing Black in the Summer & Finding a Balance
When I shared the TIPS on styling the cropped palazzo HERE, I said, the best way to go about it is to find a balance. So for that look, I created a juxtaposition – balance. For this look also, it is a case of creating a reverse juxtapositions. In this case, my blouse is baggy so I paired it with a thin or fitted pants / trousers.
When styling a loose piece and a baggy piece, it is best to create juxtapositions so you are not “drowned” by your look. Remember, you wear the look, don’t let the look wear you.
As for the double necklace, when styling your own look, feel free to wear just one necklace, if this is what you like. If you are like me who likes to try out something new sometimes, you can go for layered necklaces option like I did in this look.
Wearing Black in the Summer!
Black retains heat and can make you feel warmer than normal. When wearing black, go for a very light-weight fabric like linen or cotton. The one I have on in this post is made out of 100% linen and is very airy which is a natural property of linen. Other option would be to go for short sleeves, sleeveless, sheer or something with cut out like I did in this look HERE
I want to thank you so much for stopping by today and for reading. I do hope you enjoyed the look as much as I enjoyed sharing. Do have fun with your own look and stay fabulous.
Much Love, Mojisola
