Happy belated Mothers day to all the Mums reading. Yesterday, I spent the day filming – filmed a special one for MUMs which you can view HERE in just two minutes. I also filmed another one for my organisation for “moments that matter” campaign for people working in the front lines – can’t share this one with you until it is officially released. Please stay tuned for that.
What I can share with you is the details of this gorgeous asymmetric dress and of course some styling tips as always. Let’s check it out……
Outfit of the Day – How to Style Tunic Dressed Up & Dressed Down
I wore this gorgeous tunic dress for Mothers day celebration yesterday and spent most of the day writing, filming and editing – what a thing to dress up for? I take my craft very seriously and when I show up, I show up good!. It is important to present yourself the best way you can – you never can tell who is watching and the opportunities that may present itself to you…..allow me stop here so I don’t turn this style blog to a motivation one
Now unto my look, I paired this simply elegant ercu (off white) asymmetric dress with a pair of chocolate brown leggings and to finish my look, I paired it with my favourite beige heels. And for accessories, I wore a statement necklace and voila, my outfit of the day…..
Styling TIPS for the Day!
I styled my look with different shades of brown – cream, chocolate and beige. The colour story transitioned from very light brown to a very dark brown. When mixing colours, you can use different shades from one solid colour (in this case, brown) and take it from light to dark or vice versa – this was exactly what I did for this look.
Is cream brown? It is the lightest shade of brown in the brown family
Secondly, this dress/tunic can be worn without the leggings, I paired it with leggings to keep me warm and to also show how versatile the dress is. So if you get a dress like this, you can pair it without a pair of leggings.
Thirdly, to dress down the look, you can pair it with or without the leggings and a pair of sneakers or some slides or sandals and you are good to go.
Last but not the least styling tip for this look – when wearing a plain and simple look like this, hair, make up and accessories would help you make your look dressier than it really is. This was what I did with this look, wearing my fab hair and that gorgeous neckpiece.
I was wearing: Filippa K Dress (new) from the Outnet.com | Beshka Leggings (old) | Christian Louboutin Cornielle 100mm Heels | Zara Necklace (old)
And that is my outfit of the day today and some styling tips there for your styling inspiration. So, tell me, how do you style or own tunic? Please share with me in the comments below.
