The last time I shared a hair post, it was all about how to prevent creasy hair. Today, I bring you a new hair post on how to prepare and protect your hair extensions / human hair (Brazilian, Peruvian, clip ins etc) from damage.
I will categorise this post “Ask MJ” because this is a requested post!
Hello Moji, I love your blog. Could you please do a post on how you care for the hair extensions you wore in this picture (see picture below).
Hope you can make the time to write the post. Thank you. A
6 Easy Steps To Care For Your Hair Extensions
As you can see in the picture above, those are the 6 easy steps I follow to prepare and protect my hair extensions. You will notice that the hair in the photo illustration is curly hair just like I have in the picture below……
You can use the same routine for all your hair extension care routine. It is a tested and trusted hair care routine I follow before and after installing my hair extensions. I also use this same step when I am re-using my hair extensions.
Can I Use the same Technique for Straight Hair?
Yes, you can use those 6 steps to prepare and protect your hair extensions. It works all the time.
Other Ways to Maintain & Protect Your Hair Extensions
After installing your hair, for shine and moisture, you can use any hair serum of your choice. I use the Organics hair serum!. For curly hair, I ensure to spray with a water and conditioner mix to retain curl and to keep hair not looking dry.
It is important not to keep packing on hair products (serum, hair cream) on your hair. After a while, the hair becomes heavily greasy which can cause hair to look heavy, dull and dirty. To learn how to prevent your hair from being greasy, please check HERE for full details.
Also note that using too much heat on your hair extensions may damage your hair. If you have to use heat on your hair extensions, it is best to use heat protectant.
Greasy, heavy, dull and dirty looking hair makes your face look dull!
The above are the six simple steps I follow to protect and prevent my hair extensions before and after installing / sewing / fixing. I do hope you find it helpful. Please let me know in the comments below.
I want to thank you so much for s topping by today. Wishing you an amazing day filled with “good hair”
Much Love, Mojisola.
