As you can tell from the title, it is a 2 in one post . On this blog, we mix the look book with some motivation. Life is too short to be stylish alone. We all have to learn to dress up and show up to fulfil purpose even if our job is a stylist. I am a Stylist by the way who also happens to be a Motivational Speaker.
Today, I will be sharing with you how to style leggings and on Motivation, the reason WHY I believe New Year’s Resolutions is “crap” and a goal killer. On my journey to self, I changed just one thing, it was my life philosophy. One of such philosophies is the New Year Resolutions…….
Outfit of the Day ::: Leggings & Vest
When I was picking out this outfit, the only thing I could think of was coffee and cream…….this is because of the colour mix of the look and exactly how you and I have our coffee;we make the coffee, add some cream and voila….coffee ready
For my look today, I paired some leggings with a long line high neck blouse / turtle neck and to tie the look together, I wore a vest (very warm) and finished the look with beige / nude pumps. For accessories, I wore an end to end pair of earrings, tortoise shell glasses and tassel detail mini bag.
This look is perfect from day to night. For day time, you can wear some flats or sneakers and a big bag (tote or top handle) to carry your essentials.
How to Wear Leggings?
While I like to encourage everyone to wear what they are happy with, I also like to say that in my humble opinion, leggings should be worn with long tops.
As you can see from my own look, even though I was wearing a long vest, my turtle neck is a long one. It covers my butt. If I take off the vest, the top is still long enough and it covers my butt….that in my opinion is how to wear leggings.
Leggings are made from clingy or stretch fabrics, they cling to the butt and so as not to curse distractions or unnecessary attention to the rare / butt / bum, I highly recommend a long top with leggings or loose free flowing one like the one below………… Feel free to wear yours the way you fancy.
New Year Resolutions! Is it Crap or What?
On Motivation last Monday, I shared with you; Should I give up on my goal now and I promised I was going to share New Year Resolutions with you and why they fail…
I mentioned above that I changed just one thing on my journey to self, it was my life philosophy. Why? A lot of the things we do, we do them because of what we see around us and not because they are good or they work. For example, new year resolutions is something I was used to growing up. I hear people say my new year resolutions are……this, this and that and year in and year out, a lot of us join in and at the end of the year, we have nothing to show for it. Why? It is because “new year resolutions don’t work”…….
Here’s how to achieve goals……
Don’t wait for a new year to set new goals. Why?
It is free to dream! Making success or achieving goals or dreaming shouldn’t start in a new year only. Now is the perfect time to set that new goal. Why wait till the new year? You can have a vision of where you want to be next year but never wait till next year to start the journey of where you want to be.
In other words, little success every day makes a huge success some day. Recently, I wrote an article on 8 life lessons I learnt from Zukerberg’s visit to Africa and one of the things I wrote was that Facebook started when Zuckerberg and his college friends had the idea. They could have waited for the perfect time to start but they didn’t. Launching Facebook was a little success, 2billion people from all around the world now use Facebook. You see what I mean?
Same is applicable to your dreams and visions, don’t wait till the new year to set a new goal. Prayerfully set the goal now and start working towards achieving it. Some day, it will be a big deal.
Well, I Don’t Have All I Need…..
It is always VISION first and then PROVISION. If you have a vision or your have a written goal, somehow, all the things you need to do that project will fall into place. Trust me, you have to be sure or certain of what you want for you to get them. I love biblical principles, for example, Hebrews 11.1 says, Now faith is assurance of what we hope for and certainty of what we do not see.
For you to achieve anything you have to be sure. I am confident that Zuckerberg had some faith when “they” launched Facebook, that someday it will be a huge deal and now it is.
For all your goals, dreams and aspirations, there is no time cap for it. Feel free to dream and work at them now, don’t wait till the new year. Time to dream is now.
Always remember that little success daily makes huge success later. For example, 15minutes of exercise a day will give birth to 1-hour of exercise when you are used to exercising. You would have built strength, trust in self and, a yes, I can do it attitude. What you do now is what would makes the difference in your success story.
So what is it you’ve always wanted to achieve or you’ve always dreamed about? Don’t wait till the new year to start working at it. You can say at the end of next year, I want to finish writing my first book but you have to start now (pray – plan – strategise – take action) for you to be able to achieve it. Take action now, new year is too far to start.
I can see you doing great and phenomenal things but start it now. Good luck!
I want to thank you so much for stopping by today. I do hope you like the look and I hope you now know how to style your leggings. In my humble opinion, my how was what I shared above. Please feel free to do what you love as always.
I also hope you have been inspired to start that project now. Don’t wait till the new year to dream…..dream now, think now and act now. You will do well. Amen somebody
Wishing you an amazing week filled with the urge to dream and the strength to take action.
Much Love, Mojisola.

“Thanks for wearing the leggings the right way.”
That was what an old woman told me as I stepped out of a grocery store. Honestly, I find it disgusting when people walk out of the house in leggings and a top that will NEVER cover the bumbum. Its is not cute at all ladies. Unless you are in a workout mode, please stop. LOL!
As for New Year’s Resolution, I stopped that a long time ago. I hardly achieved the ones on paper but new ones I never wrote down. What is the point? Little water makes might ocean. Why wait/ Just start taking your baby steps now and those steps will become giant ones in the end.
Thanks Moji! I just got inspired!

I totally agree, leggings should be worn with long tops, looks classier.
Agree with Sade, except you are working out. The work out gears are thicker though.
