If I was given just an option of one season to do colour blocking, I would have to go with Spring. Spring to me is the beginning of all things beautiful. Flowers begin to blossom, the days get longer and more amazing things happen in Spring like wearing brighter and bolder colours.
For my look today, I paired some of my favourite things together. Starting with my old Sarong Capri I first wore here paired with the cropped jumper as first seen here and a colour blocked coat. To tie my look together while still sticking with the colour blocking theme, I threw on my old statement necklace and finished the look with my navy blue large top handle bag and a pair of colour blocked sandals.
While I was putting this look together, I wanted a look that was modern, creative, “grown up”, a look that I could picture on a run way, fresh and Spring perfect and this is it. Do you think so too?
This kind of look can take you easily from desk to dinner. The colour blocking coat and sandals on this look compliment each other. It is fashion forward and it is super chic.
Fashion TIP today :::: Statement Necklaces
Statement necklaces can instantly dress up a casual look. They add a touch of glamour to any look no matter how you wear them. When pairing your statement necklace with your look, be careful not to pair them with earrings that are too bold or too big so there isn’t any kinds of conflict with the necklace and the earrings.
In the picture above, you would notice that I paired my own statement necklace with tiny earrings. I could also do without the earrings because the necklace is bold enough.
In conclusion, when wearing statement necklaces, try to create a balance. Is either you do a statement necklace or statement earrings. In my humble opinion I would say never both so your look is not over the top. If over the top is what you love, then go for it. Fashion is freedom, it enables us to do as we please.
See this look on my Instagram on how I paired another statement necklace with my traditional attire.
Motivation for Monday :::: Hide Not Your Talents
Hide not your talents, they for use were made; what’s a sundial in the shade? – Benjamin Franklin.
There is no one person in this earth that does not have a specific gift God has blessed them with. Inside of you, there is a gift you have been given. It is one thing to have something, it is another to know the potential of what that thing is worth, it is also another thing to know how to use the potential in that thing to the fullest.
It is very important to discover your gift, use them and use them to the fullest. When you discover your gifts, you begin to fulfil your God given purpose and the other, you begin to help others with the gift you have been given.
The one thing that stops people from using their gifts is FEAR. Fear restricts us and prevents us from doing what God has called us to be. Do not be afraid about stepping out and using your gifts and using them to the fullest.
Take a moment now, to think about what you are good at and how you can begin to use that gift. Believe in your heart that you want to begin to use your gift and as you believe, begin to make moves slowly but progressively to use your gifts and you will be surprised at what we you can do.
Don’t waste it, there is a gift inside of you that is greater than you even know. Use it and use it to the fullest.

Color blocking at its best. I really like this look. The pops of yellow are brilliant but don’t cause a major distraction from the blocks of black & white. Love the styling.
