Black and white will never be extinct in my closet. I love both colours. STRIPES however has an understated elegance. I  love them too.

To ensure my black and white look doesn’t become boring, I look for ways to wear them differently all the time. For this look, I mixed two patterns together….stripes and houndstooth.

Since the stripes on the blouse are horizontal, my upper body became automatically broader and my lower body became leaner/thinner than it really is since I have a skinny denim on. To correct the silhouette mis-proportion, I threw on the houndstooth knit which simply helped create the illusion of slimmer top half. Any jacket will do because it closed up half way.

I wouldn’t have to bother about proportions if the stripes were vertical. Vertical stripes will elongate the frame effortlessly / automatically.

If I hadn’t worn the knit, the vertical stripes would have recreated my shape to AN APPLE (i.e  wider/broader sholuders and thinner/slimmer hips).

I am an hourglass! This photo of me wearing body con will show you my actual shape.

And to finish up my look, I threw on a pair of open toe ankle booties, a rose brooch and a large tote. I could have worn red lips but I opted for the pop of colour to to be an accessory on the clothe this time around.

I wore this stripe tee here and I din’t have to bother about a change in my proportion because I had on a pencil skirt.  The tee blended well with the skirt, it was almost like a dress.
