Off the shoulder every thing have become an item all of a sudden. Straight from the runway, they landed in the stores; both high end and high street stores stock them.
I personally always do my best not to invest so much in trends so I always find my way around trends. HOW? I create my own trend from my classic wardrobe. Let’s just say my blouse today is an improvised “off the shoulder” blouse.
I was wearing a regular blouse but because the neck is round, I was able to create my own off the shoulder by adjusting it to look like one. If you are one who is on a tight budget but still want to have fun with the off the shoulder trend, what I did is an option you could try.
For my look today, I paired my improvised off the shoulder blouse with a neon midi skirt I first wore here to describe analogous colours. To accentuate my waist, I added a leather belt with gold accent to my look and finished up with a colour block sandals I first wore here. And that is my outfit of the day.
Fashion TIP today ::: Trends
As we all know, trends come and go. If you are not sure what trend is, trend is something that is on trend / in vogue / in style / “reigning”. Currently, the off the shoulder trend is big at the moment. I don’t know if they will last for a long time but for now, they are the in thing.
If you are like me who don’t invest so much in trends, you can use the approach I used in this look. I wore a classic blouse and because the neck is round, almost of the shoulder, I created my own off the shoulder. This is one option to explore.
Another option to explore if your do not want to invest in trends or if you are on a tight budget is to buy cheaper version of the trend. So basically if an off the shoulder blouse from your favourite high store costs £199.00, look for a similar alternative that cost like £19.00. That way if they are no more on trend, you wouldn’t have wasted money. By the way, wearing what you can afford is not wasting money in my humble opinion!
Motivation for Monday :::: The Road to Success, NO short cut
Lately, I have been getting a lot of messages / questions especially from younger ladies asking me different questions from wanting to start a blog to if they can make money from blogging and how to get free stuff from blogging and all. That was why I started the “help for Bloggers series” as seen here and here, more coming soon.
Alright, it is always my pleasure to share but I will not encourage anyone to build their hope in vanity. To be able to achieve anything, you have to be willing to put in the work, there are no two ways about it. I have heard of the saying that “good things come to those who wait but better things come to those who work hard for it”. There is no short cut to achieve anything, you must be willing to make the sacrifice, put in the work and be patient to get results.
The simple illustration I like to use is climbing a ladder. Nobody starts climbing a ladder from the top. You must position the ladder firmly on the ground first and then you take the first step and then the next and unto the next till you get to the very top of that ladder. This approach is applicable in all works of life, start small and continue to grow till you get to where you want to be.
In the monthly motivation video I share on the first day of every month, I shared more helpful TIPS to help deal with arriving at that destination called success. The video is a short but powerful one, watch it below………….
Yes, the “off the shoulder trend” is one to try. Have fun styling yours. I truly hope you like the styling and I hope you found the motivation video helpful. Please let me know in the comments below.

You never disappoint. You look so sweet, so pretty. Many won’t dare to mix stripes, with bold colors, with texture & muted soft detailing. Not you. You’re a girl after my own heart. Another ensemble you slayed!
